Esperanza lay on her side for a third time.She was utterly exhausted. She had never been so tired after foal birth before, and it worried her. She strained to raise her head to look at her baby.A filly. Her Lyra. Full name, HellCat Lyra."Welcome to the world my little one."
The old mare moaned.

Temon looked up from where he had been grazing, not too far off from Esperanza. He wanted to give her some privacy. Temon raised he's head and walked toward her. He's head hung low. He's age was getting to him. He smiled lightly at the sight of he's beloved Esperanza and their new little filly. That was the second foal he had had with her.

"There's your little princess."Esperanza whispered to him.She knew how fortunate they were just to have her,but it didn't stop her exhaustion."Smaller than the boys, but that was expected."She said as she tried to get up.Her knees shook a bit, but she managed to stand tall.The filly had inherited a beautiful set of genetics. Her coat was reddish gold, like a new penny, but more buckskin to it. Her little brush mane was the color of cherry-wood.Esperanza tuned to her newborn."Come my little Lyra. Get up, my small one." She crooned softly.

Temon smiled. He's old eyes settling upon the view of he's daughter. He walked to Esperanza and nuzzled her. "You got the daughter you always wanted," he said.

"It's too bad she doesn't make me feel younger,like I thought she would.Instead she alerts me to how old I have become."Esperanza said, as Lyra rose to her little hooves and moved under her mother to feed.

"Hey, I wasn't the one who wanted to play keep away," he said jokingly. He remembered the time Esperanza had kept running of with the other mares in the herd, just to watch him try to follow her or see if he would keep watching her.

Hopefully, if we are lucky, she will be grown before we have to leave here.For who knows how long I'll last?I never was one for traveling."Esperanza was behaving more like she had a a youngster, head held up proudly;only now it was in rage,queen-like.She was also speaking in her queen-like manner.
