Cham wondered why Dal had done this. He was just wondering if he was the one Lilly really wanted to breed to. Cham wasn't always forceful with mares. Lilly deserved to chose whom she wanted to breed to. "Get off of me," Cham said as he started to struggle.

Dal was shocked by her outburst,and snarled at Cham backing away.As his back turned to the other horses,something forign appeared in his eye.A tear.He hadn't cried in a long time.But he thought Lily had loved him.He had a soft spot for her.For her laugh at him when he play fought with the others,for her love of his boldness,and for the warmth of her coat.At heart,this proved,Dal had gone soft because of her.

Cham watched as Dal went off. Cham noticed that Dal seemed upset about something and if it was over Lilly, Cham couldn't blame him. Everyone in the herd had grown to like her and some respected her.

Dal pinned his ears,and went and laid down in the grass,his back to them.Though breeding a female was often,in this herd quite a show,he did not want to watch,he wanted to be the competitor.

Lily knew Dal liked her.Lord,this was confused.She never bred to Cham before,and she wanted his foal bt didn't want to upset him.

Cham looked at Lilly. Then looked over at Dal. Cham then spoke up, "Listen! Lets let Lilly decide who she wants. She's a member of this herd and she should have a say in something." Cham looked to Lilly knowing it was out of character to say what he had said, but he respected Lilly and wanted her to be happy.
