"When's your next race," Eight Belles asked. "I have a couple of days," Bandit said.

"Whoa! Where's all this hate coming from," Bandit said. "Angel," Eight Belles said.

Bandit didn't by it. He looked over at Stripes, then back at Angel. "Wait, is this around that zebra," Bandit said.

"What if it is?"Angel snapped, knowing she was screwed any way."I swear sometimes you should just go choke on an apple, the way you treat him.And why is it you think only your breed should race, yet you think I'm so talented? For all you know,Stripes is more talented than I am,you one-sided,empty-headed,bubble-brained nag!"

Bandit's ears went flat back at that. They were as flat as a horse's ears could get. He wavered angrily and stomped him hoof. "Now you listen hear! I was willing to give you a chance because maybe I liked you! Oh, but, oh no. You just had to push your luck to far," he snarled. "Bandit. Take it easy," Eight Belles said calmly. "No! I will not take it easy! I've always believe in the way of racing! Thoroughbreds were bred for racings! We're built for it! That...That Zebra over there is from somewhere across the sea! I don't care if he's able to race! Racing should be left to the horses...The real horses," he snorted. And with that Bandit kicked out at a fence, braking a top board in one kick. Splinters went flying, along with the broke boards. Bandit galloped off and did a sharp turn and ran right at the broke part of the fence. "Bandit! No! Don't," Eight Belles yelled. It was too late. As Eight Belles yelled to him, he was already in the air aimed right at the fence. In he's anger, he did not take the care to tuck up he's hind-legs. Almost playing in shot motion in from of Eight Belles and Angel, Bandit's hind-right leg hit the post and the rail of the five foot fence. It was only about half a foot shorter since he broke the top board. Bandit, in he's anger, did not notice at first until it was too late for him to react. Bandit's leg got caught in the chain that kept the gate shut. It had been hanging to loosely and with the high of he's hoof as he jumped, it got tangled around he's leg. Bandit didn't have the chance to land with he's front hooves properly on the ground. The chain tightened around he's leg and he's body instead of going forward, seemed to be almost jerked back. Bandit whinnied in surprise. The chain broke with all the weight on it, but Bandit couldn't get he's front hooves settled right. He went down. He was down on he's front knees. Sliding as he's head come down to he's knees and the rest of he's body came to the ground. There was another thing to come. He slide right into a post right shoulder first. Bandit lay there. He's nose to the ground. He's front legs tucked as if he was just laying down to rest. He's head supported by he's nose on the ground. He's back legs spread behind him. And he's hind-quarters tilted toward the fence he's shoulder was against. He's right hind-leg tangled in the chain it had gotten caught in. Blood shown from the cuts from the chain and the fence. The board Bandit had broke sat not to far off. Skid marks could be seen in the dirt where Bandit had tried to land. There was blood on the post and the boards of the fence, where he's leg had gotten caught. The gate sat open. And there laying next to the fence to the next pasture lay Bandit. Quiet as ever. Not moving. He's eyes wide with fear and terror. He's breathing heave. Eight Belles looked in horror. "Bandit," she barely whispered the name. She just hoped he wouldn't flail around.

Angel's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't meant to make him angry.Part of her felt like he deserved some of it,because he'd looked ready to kill Stripes, but the other part beat with her heart, saying,'Don't let.....Him be dead...'."Bandit." She whispered.Words thundered in her mind, word she knew would be from the other horses' mouths if Bandit told them She'd made him do it.'Deception,Disgrace.Not one of us.'
Stripes had seen Bandit come thundering through the fences, and he had whinnied out to attract attention to the man who was driving him.The man dropped the end of the plough and went to see if Bandit was alright.Stripes stayed put, watching to see what would happen.

Bandit's nostrils were flared. Fear still in he's eyes. He tried to blow gently. He snorted and lifted he's head. He tried to use he's front legs to pull himself forward. Groans of pain came from Bandit as he tried to get up. Eight Belles watch. "Bandit, please don't move," she pleaded. "I can...get...up," he said through breathes as he tried to get up.

Bandit tried to get he's hind-legs underneath him. He push up. He's one leg hurting more than the other, but he managed to push himself up with one hind-leg. He kept the one leg in the air. The chains still hanging on he's back leg. Bandit wanted to run off to run away. For he was still angry, but now hurt and feeling more confused than ever.

"Bandit,Are you alright?"Stripes called to him, actually not feeling bitter towards him.The man who'd been driving Stipes was untangling Bandit's leg slowly, making sure he hadn't broken anything.

"I don't know," Bandit whinnied. "It' hurts." Bandit made a move to pull his leg away. It didn't hurt it one spot. He hurt all over. He just wanted to go lay down. But he felt he wouldn't be able to get back up. Eight Belles watched. "Let it just be a sprain," she said.
