Bandit backed away to let Angel defend herself. Eight Belles followed close behind Angel. "Are you sure you want to do this," she asked.

Angel seemed to answer Eight Belles and her father's demanding glare at once."The only way you'll ever learn is for some one to teach you a lesson!And since no one else will,I'm going to teach you myself!"She then leapt at her father,beginning the attack.She then remembered the tack upon her.This was a disadvantage.He fathe used the advantage and grabbed the reins from her,trying to tug her along."Let go of me!"She squealed.Spirit only said,"You wanted a lesson,I'll teach one to you!"

The filly was pulling the bit banging against her teeth.Racing bridles were very delicate back then.She heaved with her head and the bridle snapped from her head.Angel stared as it hung from her father's mouth."SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!"She demanded.She'd only worn it once,but it was like a part of her.She lunged at him again,biting and snapping.The father was enraged.He bucked and screamed at her."Angelica,Stop this nonsense!"

Eight Belles and Bandit could only stand and watch the two fight. Then all of a sudden, Temon cam thundering down the hill out of the woods. He jumped the fence easily. "That's enough," he shouted.

Angel fell from her father's back and rolled on the ground.She then stood."You spoiled everything!"She screamed,before running into the barn in tears.Spirit tried to go after her,but Temon stood in his way.

Spirit's teeth bared,"I am not spoiled!I care for myself and I care for a whole herd?I see you have none,and don't say it's because you didn't want one!Because my mother told me that your herd was all taken in an attack before you met her!That's why you left her alone!And don't you even....Don't you dare suggest I don't care about my daughter!"He snapped,his pride hurt for the millionth time by Temon.

"The problem with you is that your being to protective over her," he said. "You can't protect her forever. Thunder's in the calvary...," Temon started to bring it up, but then stopped when he remember that his own son was in the calvary as well.
"Stallions always think mares are weaker," Eight Belles said.
"Hey," Bandit said as he tuck his head through a small open window from the back.

"I wish he'd just stop fighting and leave!He never acts like this to my mother!"Angel said.She smiled as Bandit came inside.
Spirit snarled back,"My brother is too!And don't you think I've tried to get them out?!I was thrown out!What was I to do?At least I do something when the ones I love are in trouble.You just stayed at home with my mother!"
