Deceivra lay in the grass,over the two days since Utah had bred her,her body had become rounded with foal.A foal which she was now attempting to deliver."Oh Utah where are you!"She whimpered.

Utah came cantering to the valley as soon as he had gotten word that Deceivra was going to give birth to their foal soon. Utah galloped faster and harder as he got out of the woods. He made it to the valley. As soon as he saw the shine of her black coat against the ground. He cantered over to her and stopped. "Are you alright," he asked her.

"I'm giving birth,Do you think I'm alright?"She hissed,teeth grinding together.She gasped as a tiny head appeared upon forelegs."I will rest for a moment,before I continue.Look if you will."She said quietly.

"I'll wait until you have seen it," he said. "I'm not leaving your side." He looked over and saw that the foal was coming out right.

"Alright."She grunted.After a small rest,the mare resumed the birthing."Did I ever tell you my real name?It's Gertrude.A beautiful name.If it's a filly I.....oh!"The foal was almost out.One last heave from the mother,and it was born.The mare sighed and closed her eyes.If horses could have heart monitors,her heart rate wuld be further apart,for it was slowing.

"Beautiful."Esperanza said."Deceivra,have you seen it yet?"Deceivra did not respond except for her eyes rolling up and shut."Deceivra!"Esperanza said sharply.She laid her head on Deceivra's chest."Utah,baby,I need you to leave."She herded him away.A few hours later,Esperanza sought out her son,a solemn look on her face.

A small chestnut filly with black socks lay wet in the grass.She shook her tiny head and snuffled,clearing her nose."What will you name her?"Esperanza asked,looking at her son.
