Snorting gently,Thunder stood outside the calvary fort doors.His new job was a guard of the fort,well a outlooker.Just incase someone would come,Thunder and his owner would be there to get them.As he looked around and walked around the fort,He shook his head.Thunder was now 3 and a half,and had lost his memory of everything.He only knew that hHis father was Cham,his mother was gone,Utah was a buddy and same with the other calvary horses.Thunder had no memory of his wildlife.

Sagebrush,one of the other mares on patrol,sidled up beside him."Hey kid."She teased him.She gazed onto the horizon."Wouldn't it be great to run on those plains?"She asked.

A side door to the fort opened and out came a horse and rider. It was a chestnut stallion, it was Utah. And upon his back was the Colonel. They came riding up to Thunder and his rider.

Leopard,the dog,walked out behind him,keeping his distance.He nodded at Thunder,for her was...well more aquaintance than friend.

Thunder snorted at Sagebrushes question.Thunder cared no more about the wild.He was now trained,and had to memory.He looked at them,Then went back to his job.

Utah looked after Thunder and then over at Sagebrush. "Well, I haven't forgotten that I have a daughter out there, being raised without her father there to watch over her. I haven't seen her in a year," he said. He shifted under the Colonel's weight. He snorted uneasily. Things weren't all that bad here, but it was nothing like the wild.

"Of course there are young colts there. There's many. My herd is there as well," Utah said. Utah felt happy talking about this kind of stuff. It was hard to be happy when things were so strict around there. Utah bob his head as he answered her. He caught the Colonel off guard.

Utah was lowering his head when he felt the reins slipping down his neck. Utah wasn't sure of what to do. He knew not to throw the Colonel. He now feared the whip that the man carried.

Thunder watched,what was going to happen?He snorted,and looked.The only thing he could remember was that he lived with Cham,his fahter Was Cham and they were bachleors.He looked at Sagebrush.Snorting gently,for some reason he was getting attached to her
