"Yes, I know," Utah said. "But...she was force-bred to me." Utah turned away as to avoid eye contact with any of the other mares who had been stand with Esperanza. It was a shameful thing to have happen to a mare, but it was more shameful for a stallion to let humans do something like that with them.

Esperanza knew she shouldn't have said that,but now it was done."Yes.Your father and I.....We tried and I think we're having another foal, a little filly."she said,feeling a bit sheepis.Here she was scolding him about putting lives in danger and she done it herself.
