Lily looked at everyone,Cham,Dal,Rocky and other mares or stags.A snort gently erupted from her as she trotted off into the woods,knowing it was her time.Wanting to be alone when it happened,she cantered to her hideout in the woods,ready.As soon as she got there,concractions began to start.She was lucky,and it was right on time.She collapsed,laying down on the soft grass.Laying there,trying to calm herself,she began pushing.finally,when she felt it was out,she lifted her head,being really weak.She saw a small,buckskin colt laying there.Lily began to try to lick it clean,as she finished.She stood up,nudging the foal to stand.

Cham stayed with the small herd, waiting for Lily's return.

Chelsea awaited her return with him,ready to help with anything she might need.Spruce bark to increase milk production,rosemary needles for weakness,rose-colored toadstools for soreness,and many other items as well.

Lily and the small colt returned an hour later,Lily was ever so proud.She had never given birth to a buckskin before.A snort gently escaped her,as the little newborn staggered beside her.

"What a sweet little one."Chelsea commented to Cham."How handsome he is."Dal felt uncomfortable with the entire thing,knowing that Chelsea was in love with him,but Lily was promised to him.He wondered,which path to take.

Cham watched the little foal walk along it's mother's side. He sensed Dal feeling. He looked over to him. "Are you alright," he asked.

Cham chocked he's head and looked at Dal. "I know this must be strange, but all will settle in time," Cham said and smiled to Dal.

Lily smiled at all of them,thanking Chelsea.The little colt pranced around,trying to show off.Once seeing other stallions,he hid under his mother.Lily laughed,pushing him out."This is your daddy,and your uncle Dal!"Lily smiled,pointing to them.

Dal felt embarrassed at what Lilly said.'Uncle'?Who would ever want him as even a distant cousin?Yet he was warmed by the spunky thing,and laughed at his outgoingness."Like his dad!"Dal teased pulling Cham's ear.
