Rain got scared when he said that.It was like he Could read her thoughts.She smiled and trotted into the valley next to espersanza.She looked at the sky and it looked like a storm was coming.

Spirit's nostrils extended and retracted as he caught the scent of electricity."Damn,I've been stupid!The valley is most sheltered,but it floods easily!"He moved the herd away from the trees.

As rain walked she got a sharp kick in the stomach.She did not know what it was but ingored it.She perked her ears up as she heard the rumbling clouds an the thunder.There was a storm coming,and quick.

Lightning flew from the sky and struck a tree,breaking it down.Spirit moved the herd farther,for a mare had almost been hit.They moved to the farthest point from any trees and it was luckily on high ground.

Rain got a kick in the stomach again.She walked ahead and all of a sudden,lightning struck right infront of her!she reared and screamed.Then she could wait no longer,The kicking was getting harder.Watching if spirit was looking at her she ran to a shaded tree which coulld not be struck.She pushed and pushed,BBy tthe 3rd push there was a small,buckskin and white colt getting licked clean.

Spirit watched in amazement as his first born,his son,was born.What a miracle he was.The storm slowly subsided.It was a flash storm,so it came and went quickly.Sunshine beamed down upon his son.

A couple minuets later,The new colt was taking his first steps.As soon as he could canter,he went straight to his father and smiled.

Rain ttrotted out of the cave.The baby sack was still on her and she tried pulling it off.She laughed and smiled when he saw spirit crying."what shall we name it?"she wondered.

"Perfect."She smiled.Aquardly she felt another kick.She was scared now.All of a sudden she collapsed.After a while there was a small,Brown and white filly on the ground."another!"She was suprised.

"A daughter!"Spirit cried happily.He assisted Rain in cleaning her.Sunlight shone upon her,and with the shiny afterbirth still hanging from her ear,gave her the appearance that she had a tilted halo on her head."Our Angel."He said.

Spirit felt like he could have run 10,000 miles,but he knew now,he had a family to care for.He nuzzled both his children,eyes glistening again.
