Cham started cantering after him, but not as fast as he usually did. He did not want to pull the stitches out. For they still hurt.

Cham tried to keep up. He did not jump the rock. He went around it instead. He continued on.

They headed back toward the herd. Cham started to slow down when they came toward where a stream came through.

Cham drank as well. "So, has anything happened in the short time that I've been gone," he asked trying to start a conversation. He had only been gone for over a day or two.
