"I can't," Utah said as he pulled away. "Why not," Temon asked. "I can't go through with any of this," he said. "With what," Temon demanded, getting a little tired of all the nonsense. "I raped her," he cried. "Who," Temon asked. "Sage, the mare who came back with me from the calvary," he said through his cries. "What do you mean," Temon said through shock, not understanding fully. "I was force bred to the sweet mare, but she didn't want it," Utah cried. He started to sink back down to the ground.

"No, no, no. It's all to much of a reminder," Utah said.

"She had no choice! She was chained. All her legs were on short chains that were driven into the ground. She just wanted to get it over with," he said.

"I was gentle," Utah said. "Every thing was still horrible there."

"I've endured worse."A soft voice spoke quietly.Sage stepped from the forest shadows. Her sides were now pushed far out with foal. She had quietly followed Spirit and Temon at a distance."My breaking was truly hard."She walked towards the seemingly deranged Utah.

Utah quieted and looked up at Sage. "If I would have be gelded you would have never had to go through with this," he said. He really wasn't sure if Sage wanted to bare the foal. He never had asked her about it. Temon looked at Utah and stomped his hooves angrily. "Don't you ever say anything like that! Being able to help bring life into this world is a beautiful thing. You still have the ability and never take it for granted. Be glad you have what you have," Temon said.

Sage walked over to him."Your father speaks truly.Do not be ashamed on what you have done.It only means you can correct mistakes the next time."She said nuzzling. She jolted then laughed."And your son thinks so too."

Utah looked at her. "My son?," he questioned. Utah looked at her. He felt like he had become almost whole again. But the one piece missing was Decievra. He felt like he was betraying her. Even though she had passed on, he had still felt like she was a part of him. He didn't know whether or not to move on or now. He was starting to have really strong feeling for Sage, but he did not know how she felt about him. Utah had been trying to hide those feelings. He felt it wasn't right for him to love another mare after he's first love had passed. Utah looked up at Spirit and his father. He looked at Sage. He was becoming even more confused about his feelings and his life. He stood up. He looked at Spirit and decide he would take. "Alright," Utah said. "I'll come back. As long as I can talk to Spirit alone before we head back." Temon looked at Spirit. He wondered what Utah would have to talk about. "Alright," Temon said. "Sage and I will go ahead, if you two want to talk."

Utah looked to Spirit after the two had left. "I don't know what to do," Utah began.
