"I surrender," Seth whispered so that only Esperanza could hear him. Seth laid down like he was hurt. He closed his eyes and slowed his breathing. Utah watched his mom came back up slowly. Watching as she kept an eye on Seth. Temon walked slowly over to Utah. Ever step that he took sent a sharp pain shotting to him chest. He stood next to Utah. Temon looked over at Spirit. Utah went done to his mom to make sure she was alright. Temon sighed, and said in a whisper that could barely be heard by another horse, "Is it truly over? Or is there more to come?" Seth stayed were he was. He did not move an inch.

Esperanza,now out of her rage,calmly nuzzled and licked her boys.She wasn't proud of what she'd done,but when her family was in danger,no one touched them without going through her.

Utah left his mom alone as she walked with Temon. Utah looked down the hill. And to his surprize, Seth was no longer there!!! Utah looked around franticly. He made sure no one was paying attention. It was probably no big deal. Then he heard the quick pitter patter of something coming up behind him. He turned and there was a black wolf. The color of night, barely to be seen. The wolf barked and growled as he jumped at Utah. He's teeth ready. Utah was to late the wolf clapped his jaws on the top of Utah's neck. Utah panicked and slid down the hill in his struggle to get away from the wolf. They made it down the muddy slope of the steep hill. Utah bumped into a huge rock as they came down and rolled down the rest of the hill. The wolf yelped in pain as he let go to avoid getting rolled over by the horse. Utah made it to the bottom. He stood up. The wolf was gone. Utah looked around. His body was cover in mud. And the wolf was too, but was invisible at night. His black coat help him a lot at night. Then all of a sudden, Seth came charging at Utah. He turned and kicked. Utah stumbled backwards a little. Seth came at him again. The wolf, Lupus stood guard, waiting for Apep to come. He was going to make sure the other horses did not come down to help.

Apep joined him,but as he got there he snarled,"The buckskin!He's going in!"He spoke the words true.Spirit had galloped past him while he was regaining his strength.Spirit's coat was highly visible in the night especially with the rain glistening from it.He stood on the crest of the hill,and saw the raging stallion attacking his brother at the bottom.he slid down,losing his footing and when he reached the bottom,was also covered in mud.His scratches he'd recieved from his step-father opened and began to bleed.Spirit tried to stand and slid down further,land with his nose against Seth's fore hooves.Apep and Lupus were running to find the intruding stallion,but when they got to the top of the hill,all they could tell was that their were 3 horses,all stallions,coated with mud.

"Which one is Seth," Lupus hissed in confusion as the stallion fought. He stopped half way done the hill.
Seth snorted a laugh when he saw the Cimarron Herd's Lead stallion at he feet. He got ready to step on Spirit when, Utah lunged forward and knocked Seth away from Spirit. He kicked Seth to get him further away. They were well away from Spirit now. The two muddy stallions reared at each other. Their squeals could be heard through the rain. Some painful squeals came and some whinnies of war. Utah kept fighting. They reared up again. This time, Seth struck Utah in the head. Utah fell backwards to the ground and rolled to his left side. Seth circled him. He laughed to himself. "You're a lot like your father. This is all so familiar," Seth said. "This all would have gone smoother if you just let me do as I planned in the first place." He stopped. He looked down at Utah. Utah had trouble looking up as the rain came harder. "Now, I don't know whether or not to kill you, or just geld you," Seth said. He motioned and the wolves came down to him. He laughed.

Spirit stood up after Utah got Seth away.He heard Seth's evil words as he knocked his brother to the ground.Spirit silently crept behind him.He slammed him in the side,knocking him down."No gelds my brother!Or anyone I know."He said furiously.
Apep came down the hill along with Lupus as he was told.He saw Spirit sneaking around behind Seth and knocking him to the ground.Apep silently slunk behind Spirit as Lupus pinned down Utah,and got him down,pinning him and as Apep grinned,he asked,"What shall we do with this trouble maker?"

"Geld them both. Then kill them!" Lupus laughed.
Utah started to struggle to get free. Some of the herd could make out what was going on. Most of them horrified by all this. Niga stood. "We've got to do something," she said weakly.

Forest agreed."But what?"Esperanza was trying to bring everyone to order when....
"QUIET!"Deceivra shouted.Everyone went silent."I have a plan."The herd gathered and listened to her plan.
Spirit struggled.He didn't want this to happen.It couldn't!"You can't do this!"He shouted at Seth.Apep spread his weight out over Spirit's body,applying pressure to his old scar,which was terribly tender.He clamped his hind legs together,and crumpled them close to his body,but he knew this would do him no good.

Utah squirmed more and more. He started to thrash around. Lupus struggled to hold him still. "Stand still," Lupus hissed, knowing his words would do nothing. "I hope Seth gets up soon," he whispered to Apep.

"Yeah!Get up you stupid equine!"He snapped at his friend.Spirit continued to squirm,but Apep's sharp teeth found him,Spirit gasped in pain,but as he felt all was lost,a cry came thundering over the hill,"Charge!"The herds,Bronius and Cimarron,lead by Deceivra and Esperanza galloped down the hill."Run far lupine evils!I am Deceivra,the mighty killer!"

Seth luckily woke up and heard the cry of Lupus, "We must go! It is no longer safe." And with that Seth got up. "We will return my friends, but when," he said as he galloped off and his wolf friends followed close by him.

Esperanza nuzzled both her sons,giving Spirit over to Rain,yet not letting go of Utah.When she broke the embrace,She spoke."Someone here has something to say to you..."Deceivra stepped forwards."I wanted to tell you...I'm sorry for what I've done.I apoligized to Spirit and I really do love you.And for you,I've made the ultimate sacrifice.I,who never wanted to be a mother,am now truly in foal to you."

"They will never find us," Seth said to the wolves. "We shall go in hiding for a while, far from here," Seth whispered. At this rate there was now way they were going to capture them.
"Deceivra," Utah said as he got up. "I don't know what to say..."

"Yes,my beautiful?"She whispered.Esperanza interrupted them."We must leave!My second son has just brought foals into the world and my first son is now going to have it happen again.I will not stand for anymore to be brought into danger."Spirit interrupted her."Actually Mum,I'm not sure anymore will be possible for me."He said.He moved a hind leg backward.He was bleeding.He did not know it,but more were to come,for her still had half of himself.
