"Seth will not come back soon," Temon said. "He never strikes twice in a year. The foals will be fine." He nuzzled Esperanza, trying to reassure her. "They will be fine. Seth will not find out anytime soon."

Esperanza was more concerned about Spirit.She knew he and Rain had high hopes about having a large family.

"Maybe I should go," Utah said. He looked at his herd members mixed in with the Cimarron herd. "I don't want bring any more trouble to this herd or mine."
Temon looked at Utah. "Are you mad?!" he said. "If you go off wandering alone with out your herd, he will find you! He has nothing but hatred in him toward our side of the family."
"Maybe I shouldn't have any foals at all," Utah said. He hated to say it, but to endanger young lives that have no idea of why they might be harmed may be too much of a risk.
Niga came weakly out of the hurt. She walked up to Utah. "You can't...You just can't," Niga said.
Utah looked at her, surprised that she was speaking against him.
"For as long as I have joined the herd and the other mares in your herd, you promised that you would not breed to them if they did not wish it," she said. "I know that some have deep scars within us that can not be reached by any one, but for those years, however many that has been ...You have not bred to a signal one of us or any one. You up held your promise, but as a herd, it was our jobs to let you help bring foals to this world. The only young one in our herd is Abel and he is not ever your's. We should have been helping you along," she said. "I'm sorry for what I have said, but it is true. We are your herd."
"Niga," Utah said. He looked into her deep brown eyes. "I never wished to hurt any of you. I only wished to help those who need to be helped before I ever helped myself."
Niga closed her eyes and lowered her head and step backwards into the herd. Temon looked at Utah. He knew Utah was only speaking the words that he would never have a foal, but did not feel that way inside.

"Yes, but if he comes back...," Utah started.
Temon picked up a bit on Esperanza's feelings. He was getting annoyed with hearing of Seth. "Silents," his voice came out more angrily than he wanted. Ever since he came to meet these herds and gotten to know many in the last day or two, he had found his role as a father more and more needed to his son. "It's foolish to go out on your own knowing that their is some one after you. The last thing that I would ever want for my son is to live the life of his father. Running from those who have come after you. For far too long, I have wandered these mountains. There are those who wander and can live their lives out like that, but in my life...I had feared Seth. Running from him as he always tried to follow and make sure that his job was done right. I have fought with many stallions in my years of wandering, as many as a herd leader has had to face in their leadership. I do not wish that life upon my son. You can only run for so long before that what you are running from finds you," Temon said.
"Yes, but I do not wish to bring lives into this world that may end up finding nothing but cruelty in this world," Utah argued back.
"They may find cruelty! There is cruelty every where! Even if you're not in danger, danger always has away for finding you. It's apart of life," Temon yelled. He was getting fed up with this nonsense. He did not wish for this to happen, but he needed Utah to just understand that they are only trying to help him.
Utah was silent. He feared the anger that was bubbling in his father. For his father was strong than him.
"I'm tired of this nonsense! You need to learn how to understand life as it comes! Not try and solve every problem before it may or may not ever come! Somethings are best learned as life goes on. Somethings can be solved before hand but not problems such as ours'," Temon said sternly. He snorted and pawed impatiently for his son's understanding. He was so fired up now. Temon hated the anger that always hid within him. Temon was raised to stand up for what you believe in that was right. And it was in Utah as well, otherwise they would not be arguing right now.

Utah remained silent. He looked at his father, then at his mother, and then at Deceivra. Deceivra was the first mare in his herd to ever say he could breed to her. He really didn't want to hurt her. He closed his eyes and sighed and turned to Spirit. He opened his eyes and said, "I will stay."

Rain couldn't belive it.Lowering her head,she hid her tears.She fianally found a perfect love,and then he gets gelded!Ugh,life is tough."Do you still create......."Rain hated saying the word."Sperm?"She asked.
